Other Way of Staging? (Part VI)
Now it is time for the final part of the series. In this part, I will let you know what you need to make sure of before you put your house on the market for potential buyers to come and look at. There is one thing I would like you to remember and that is to never forgot that everyone is a potential buyer, you never know who will pop out and decide to buy a house, it may be a person you would never expect, so keep your eyes open and do the best you can! Let’s get started.
Now that we have done the yard work and outside work, let’s do a through check of the house to make sure all areas are covered.
Check to make sure that all carpets are clean, all countertops are clean, all kitchen cabinets have been polished and dry, floors are all ready to do and check your ceilings as well. Potential buyers do not want spider webs or dust in their face; they want to have the ‘fresh’ sense of smell when they enter your house.
Now that we have looked at the ‘hard’ work type area, we can move onto the fun stuff, which is decorations, furniture, and other goodies.
Let’s start off from the Living room.
Be sure to have a clean sofa, maybe a small table in the middle of the living room, next to the sofa’s, side tables, perhaps even a TV if you want, it all depends on your taste, but in the end, whatever your taste may be, be sure to make everything you display at the top of the game.
We can now move onto the kitchen. It would make sense for a family to have a dining table in the kitchen area, but if you do not, do not worry about it. If you have a countertop system (like bars) where a person comes up to a higher table to get food and sits in benches to eat, you can provide that kind of attraction as well. In my opinion, I find this kind of display more attractive than the dining table, and you save a little more money in this method as well.
Moving onto your bedrooms. Obviously you would have a bed, and what not. If you have a kid’s room, be sure to have their toys, and all of their goodies aside or use as part of decorations to display in their room(s). I really hope I have taught you something in this little series, so be sure to remember the little advice I gave you and remember than there are many more ways of achieving staging than to just having everything professionally done. |
